- Moonshine Messiahs
- Mountains of Matallama
- The Masons
All Beautiful, All Talented, All FUN!
Ask the white people, ask the black people, ask the hasidic people, ask anyone
who was there and they will tell you, Those bands fucking ROCKED!
What is a community but a bunch of people with common bonds. All of the
bands in our line-up had come to us through connections we had made. If they
werent roommates, they were friends, or friends of friends who are now
new friends, or whatever. The point is, all these fine acts got there on time
to play for the people who appreciate them.
There was total
respectfor the most part, well ignore a drumming incidentand
total cooperation. Some bands didnt have all the necessary equipment,
some bands did. And as our mothers taught us as toddlers, we all shared.
And the effect? Wow! A fucking wonderland of sound. I wasnt able
to see all the bands due to either other shenanigans going on, or a basic
intoxication which in certain circles should make me embarrassed. What I did
see was phenomenal. Mountains of Matallama really singed the nose
hair out of you with the heat from their guitars. The Masons
dazzled and delighted with a sweet, mid-western innocence. Blisster shook the shit out of
the crowd with pure animal sex. Mink Lungs gave everyone sight
and sound and dance and love.
And the others? Why dont you tell
me. I was passed out by then. |
